Fused glass
Fused glass is a process of creating a picture or an item out of glass that is melted together using a glass kiln. The trick is that the glass must be "compatible".
"Compatible" means that the glass must be tested to expand and contract at the same rates when being fused in a glass kiln. All glass can be fused. But, not all glass is compatible.

Are you confused? Let me try to explain. For example,
I made some pocket vases for my sister-in-law. I used a pink glass since pink is her favorite color. However, the pink glass I used is not a tested compatible piece of glass. But, since I am fusing it to itself, I was able to use it.

A recent project was a picture in fused glass. And since I used multiple colors, the glass I used must all be tested compatible glass(which it is). You can see it below.

Most recently, June 2009, I was asked to create a fused glass birdfeeder for a client. What do you think?
